'Rose Mediterraneen', Bay of Jounieh, Lebanon....

An Indian Summer led me to these great images of 'Rose Mediterraneen', which is situated in the Bay Bay of Jounieh, in the village of Gahzir, Lebanon. The house renovated by architect Mathieu Sfeir draws heavily on Moroccan influences...

I am loving the shades of pink chosen for the walls & also the patio entrada which is what dreams are made of...

I am sure there are many other gems popping up along this part of the Lebanese coast.. Lebanon is featured more and more as a place to visit and I strongly suggest, if you are given the chance, to get there before the masses!!

Images taken from An Indian Summer..thank you!

white & grey interiors....

It isn't perhaps the most obvious but having come across these stunning images - white and grey really can work very well together.
In particular I love the images taken from San Dominico House in Italy which shows how grey can be used as an alternative in adding colour to the traditional whitewashed buildings. You see a lot of blues & greens but seldom grey.. it works as a nice alternative I think.
In contemporary spaces of course grey has much more prominence in colour palettes but with a little bit of imagination it doesn't have to be drab and masculine.. combined with white it can be crisp and very kind on the eye.

eau natural...

The idea - Water plants foster the growth of beneficial microorganisms that kill bacteria and keep natural pools clean enough to comply with the EU's strict water quality standards. The plant portion, or regeneration zone, is separated from the swimming area by a wall concealed below the water’s surface. Sunlight heats the water in the regeneration zone naturally, and the warm water gradually filters swimming area. Synthetic pool liners keep the whole thing from leaking

The pools cost $$but in the long run save you $ and the environment.. it takes a while to get around the idea of swimming your lengths with the odd frog and water lilly obstructing your progress BUT its well worth it I think!

coloured bottles

1930's Seltzer bottles - Argentina

There are few things more effortlessly beautiful than coloured glass bottles sitting in a windowsill, filled with flowers, or displayed on a mantelpiece.

I love coloured glass and had begun to accumulate quite a collection in Bs As. If you go looking in Bs As and around you can pick up some amazing finds - not least the vintage 1930 Selter bottles in stunning blues and greens. The obvious places to go looking at the markets in San Telmo and Dorrego but even better is to go off the beaten track, as far as Uruguay if you can, where you will find an Aladdin's cave of wonderful things at much better prices.

The bottles featured here (not Seltzer) come from the brand spanking new UK company Bottle Green Homes which have a whole of array of other beautiful household products too.

Go & have a look - Bottles start at 15 uk sterling and can be purchased via their online boutique...

oi soi oi...goodness gracious me

Oi Soi Oi which is Vietnamese for Goodness Gracious Me is another danish find...and what a great find!

Founded in 2007 by Christina Thobell & Britt Goodall, Oi Soi Oi produces all of it's products in villages around Hanoi by family-run workshops.
The corner stone of the Oi Soi Oi concept is respect for the people they work with: their customers, their suppliers in the workshops and the many more who contribute to making Oi Soi Oi such a success in really, very little time.

Just from viewing the website briefly I have found countless wonderful accessories for the home - ceramics, textiles to name but a few...

The following stock Oi Soi Oi products in the Uk - failing that i'm sorry to say you'll have to make a trip to Denmark.. and all things considering with so many devine interior finds coming from Denmark i'd be the first to go and pay a visit!!

pia ulin....

Pia Ulin is a swedish photographer who specialises in shooting interiors - her work embraces life and her lifestyle images breathe energy...
I love these particular shots from Morroco - & as I have featured time & time again it is the simple white finish for the walls and then the furnishings which make the space. So simple but so very effective.

house doctor to the rescue....

Have you heard about House Doctor?
A danish family run company offering furniture and interior design products to discerning consumers with an interest in interior design.
My 5 x favorite picks -

great & different carpets!
elegant trays that would work anywhere in the home
sumptuous fabrics with cotton fill - superb throws
wonderful wicker - House Doctor actually seems to have some nice wicker!!

candle holders - there are 100's to choose from...

With their HQ in Denmark - where all the designing is done, they produce 2 x collection a year. This means that there are always exciting & in my opinion, beautiful furnishings for every taste available...

Their online catalog illustrates what they have on offer - I couldn't flick the pages fast enough & the good news it that they are represented throughout Europe. For list via.

Yet again, another Scandinavian design house comes up trumps!

Thanks to Beauty Comma blog for introducing me to House Doctor.
